CFLE-Parenting Coordinator

Parenting Coordination is a practice which utilizes a family system approach to facilitate resolution of co-parenting issues arising from divorce, separation or ongoing custody disagreements that may affect parent-child relationships. A Parenting Coordinator is an impartial third party who may be designated by the court or agreed upon in a mediated settlement to assist parents in resolving parenting issues through confidential procedures.

Parenting Coordination has been legislated in Texas since 2005. In 2007 it was legislated as an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) process. In 2009 Parenting Coordination professional guidelines for education and training were more clearly defined. As a consequence the Texas Council on Family Relations deemed it responsible to adopt Standards of Practice for Certified Family Life Educators that provide Parenting Coordination services. For more information please review our CFLE-PC Standards of Practice.

If you are a professional who meets these Standards of Practice as a CFLE-PC and would like to be listed on our website please submit an Application for Website Listing.

If you received services from a CFLE-PC listed on our website and would like to submit a challenge to their professional ethics to our review board, please fill out a Challenge to CFLE-PC form and follow the directions on that form.
